| I have a question and need to pick the grey matter if my noble peers
The gearbox on my mp5 would appear to be tight and is running the battery down pretty quick. The fps is fine at around 320. Is it a case of opening it up and shimming it.
Have slackened the motor off as it was screwed in tight to the gearbox | |

| Firstly, are there split washers under the screws that hold the gearbox together. There should be as the case may be screwed too tightly together. If the battery is running down, have you tried it with another battery? If yes there is some binding somewhere. Perhaps a broken part, or not enough lube. You could, if brave, stip the whole thing down, decrease, relube and rebuild. Also try, take everything out except the gears and shims, screw the case back together and see if the gears spin freely.
