PostSubject: LiFe batteries   Mon May 04, 2015 3:28 pm

I should know the answer to this question but I am just double checking. If I charge my batteries and then connect t the night before a game, they shouldn't discharge should they?

Theore tical as there is no connection to the motor, I. E. The trigger being pressed there is no load on the battery and so it shouldn't discharge

Thoughts on a postcard?

I put a life in each of my l85's and neither has lasted a full day of play - but I i super I have a bad batch as the new l
LiFe Batts seem much stronger

In theory you are right, and just overnight should be no problem what so ever. Only thing, if your paranoid about lipo/life's going bang or bursting into flames is only connect them just before the game. Wink

The batteries should not discharge, in an ideal world there is no load on the battery when its in your RIF, Li-Fe will normally hold their charge, sounds like either a short or duff batteries.

1 Carge the battery.
2 Verify the voltage.
3 leave on desk over night.
4 Check voltage.
5 Leave for a few days.
6 check voltage.

If volltage drops, drop battery in bin Smile

If no voltage drop its your wiring in the RIF, try battery in a different RIF to comfirm you findings.

Also what capacity are the batteries and is it a normal/high speed or high torque motor in the gun?

Think I might have solved my problem. Did some sitting and thinking and looked at the situation, which was added to by the poor performance of my lipo batteries as well. The common denominator is the battery charger. It supposed to charge through the balance leads but to be honest it doesn't give me a lot of confidence. Bought a new charger and the first battery is taking an age to charge and the balance lights are going mental, so I think I might just be right. Tenancy trouble is I can test my theory of until the next game.
